Christopher Cayer has over 20 years of experience auditing governmental, not-for-profit, and for-profit entities that receive state and federal financial assistance subject to Government Auditing Standards, Florida Single Audit Act and OMB Circular A-133. Chris provides a range of services which include financial statement audits, compliance audits, internal control studies, agreed upon procedures, financial reviews and tax planning and preparation. His responsibilities as an auditor consist of planning, fieldwork, reviewing, and report preparation in the areas of financial and compliance audits.
Chris has developed an excellent understanding of internal control, compliance and regulatory issues, accounting and reporting issues, compliance auditing, functional reporting and cost allocations specific to these industries. He developed skills specifically directed at strategic planning and benchmarking for not-for-profit organizations. Christopher Brooks has over 20 years of experience in tax preparation and representation and manages a wide variety of specialized attestation engagements including financial statement audits, compliance audits, valuation engagements, common interest real estate associations and agreed upon procedure engagements. Chris has also been recognized by the courts as an expert witness in business matters and dispute resolutions. He is also regularly involved in accounting systems analysis, design and implementation.
Chris holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both Accounting and Finance from Florida State University. Chris is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Association of Business Valuation Specialists. Chris also serves on the Board of Directors of America's Second Harvest of the Big Bend, Inc., and the Finance and Oversight Committee of Cops for Kids of Tallahassee, Inc.
Geoffrey Fenner manages audit and advisory service engagements in the non-profit industry. Geoff has over eighteen years experience, almost exclusively in the non-profit sector. Geoff has hands on experience performing literally hundreds of non-profit audit engagements. In addition to Geoff's public accounting experience, Geoff has over four years of hands on experience as a controller at a non-profit organization.
Geoff has managed numerous audits in accordance with OMB-Circular A-133, which included auditing a variety of Federal programs. Geoff also has extensive experience assisting organizations in accounting systems development; cost and financial analysis including grant & contract cost recovery; and grants management.
Geoff holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Maryland and is a licensed member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Geoff has also been actively involved in the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Maryland Association of Non-Profit Organizations, and the American Society of Association Executives.
